The Portable Ringable Bell

The Portable Ringable Bell is a large single bell hung for full-circle ringing.

The bell will be available to be taken to shows & events to promote English bell ringing, and how bell ringing works.

Most portable rings are small in comparison to church bells due to weight and transportation.

This large bell is the same size as a 3.5cwt bell, however it is not cast out of bronze. This is to reduce the weight and motion-forces, making it easier for transportation, assembly and to ring.

The bell was cast in December 2025. It weighs 0-1-25, has a diameter of 24" and is tuned to the note C. It will be hung on an aluminium headstock.

It will be hung in an aluminium low-side A-Frame. For transportation it will have collapsible removable legs.

It will feature a wooden stay with a rope-loop that will hook around a steel pin, rather than a traditional wooden slider. This is to reduce resistance and noise.
